Daredevil: Born Again season has signed up another opponent to Marvel's Kingpin: Lili Taylor

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 continues to bring in top tier talent, this time with Lili Taylor from Outer Range and The Conjuring

Chances are you've seen Lili Taylor on either the big or small screen. She played a mother possessed by a spirit called Bathsheba in The Conjuring, she was in Mystic Pizza, as well as shows like Outer Range, Six Feet Under, and The X-Files. Now, Lili Taylor is stepping into a new universe all together with Daredevil: Born Again.

In an interview with Rural Intelligence, where she was discussing her new book about birding, Lili Taylor revealed that she's joined the MCU as part of the cast of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. "I'm the governor [of New York], which is great," Taylor said. Rural Intelligence notes that Taylor's role as the governor will be in political opposition to the City of New York's current mayor, Wilson Fisk.

Daredevil: Born Again season 1 ended with Matt Murdock expressing how in order to take down Fisk, he'll have to form essentially, an army of defenders protecting New York's democracy. It looks like Taylor's governor character could be a part of these efforts. (Although, given how he has previously dealt with opposing forces, we'll have to see how Fisk handles the official governmental apparatus standing against him.)

I can't imagine that New York State would exactly be cool with their largest city being run into a state of chaos by a former crime boss, but we'll have to wait and see.
