Even though Prime Video has yet to reveal an official release date for Critical Role's The Legend of Vox Machina season 4, the cast is already proving that it's a season worth waiting for. At New York Comic Con 2025, the famously spoiler-averse gang of Critical Rolers were willing to reveal even more of that cast, and for one of them, even the character they're going to play. You heard it here first, folks - breakout Vox Machina NPC Taryon Darrington will be played by none other than comedy legend Wayne Brady.
Let's add some context here: the news comes from the Critical Role panel at this year's NYCC, attended by OG cast Sam Riegel, Liam O'Brien, Marisha Ray, Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe , Matthew Mercer, Ashley Johnson, and Travis Willingham. At about the halfway point in the discussion, though, the cast teased that a yet-unrevealed voice actor was waiting in the wings. And as Brady took the stage singing Happy Birthday (for Sam Riegel - if you must know), the assemebled crowd of Critters went wild.
But the cast wasn't done revealing just yet. Joining Brady in the upcoming season will be, in no particular order:
- Kevin Michael Richardson
- Debra Wilson
- Tom Cardy
Critters probably won't be surprised to see Cardy's name on the last, as the Australian comedian (and self-proclaimed D&D nerd) has played with the gang before, acting as MC for the 10th Anniversary Tour in Sidney, where he also played giant bard Ethel Rivergold. Richardson, meanwhile, has an extensive history in voice acting, and Wilson has experience in the genre space as the voice of Amanda Waller in the upcoming seaosn of DC's My Adventures with Superman.
The Legend of Vox Machina season 4 debuts on Prime Video some time in 2026.
