DM like The Mighty Nein's showrunner - check out these Dungeons & Dragons campaigns

Tasha Huo is, in a way, DM'ing everyone who chooses to watch The Mighty Nein on Prime Video. But in her spare time, these are the D&D campaigns she and friends gather around a table to explore

Here's something that won't shock you - the folks behind media empire Critical Role are constantly keeping up with the latest in TTRPGs. High-fantasy tabletop roleplaying is their bread and butter, after all, and you don't need this article to help you picture folks like Matt Mercer or Laura Bailey sitting around a table on their off hours and rolling some dice. However, what you might be interested in learning is which campaigns the gang are playing on their spare time...

A fact that Mighty Nein showrunner Tasha Huo was only happy to share.

Huo was a recent guest on the Super Cool Nerd Show, on which she was asked the parting question - what D&D campaigns are you running right now? (Right now being November of 2025 when this interview aired - just keeping the facts stright for you, reader).

"I am DMing like three campaigns," Huo said. "I'm playing a ranger, but I want to kill her so I can make soemthing else."

Oh, wow. We didn't know you felt so strongly about that class, Tasha. Is anybody else glad our favorite Vox Machina ranger Vex isn't in this series?

Anyway...

"I'm DMing Keys of the Golden Vault," Huo continued, "And Strixhaven right now."

Well there you have it! If you've ever found yourself wanting to follow in the footsteps of the folks who bring you the latest adventures in Exandria, you have two great places to start.

The Mighty Nein season 1, which is the same and new indeed, is streaming on Prime Video now.

With two animated series on Prime Video, Campaign 4 in full swing, and so much more Exandrian lore to come, Critical Role is showing no signs of slowing down. That's why the adventuring party at Popverse are here to bring you everything we can from those nerdy-ass voice actors & Bo., including:

...and much, much more. Roll initiative, player. Magic awaits.
