HBO's next Game of Thrones prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will be “Short. Fun. Earthy" says showrunner

The cast and showrunner of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms teases what viewers can expect from the Game of Thrones prequel

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms won’t be premiering on HBO until January 18, 2026, but we can still give you a little hint at what you can expect from the Game of Thrones prequel. Showrunner Ira Parker and the cast aren’t giving away spoilers, but each of them offered three words to hype up the upcoming fantasy drama.

“I would do hilarious. I would do heartbreaking. And gory,” Egg actor Dexter Sol Ansell tells Popverse’s Ashely Victoria Robinson during a New York Comic Con interview.

“I would go, Dunk’s arc would be, forcefully acquired wisdom,” Dunk actor Peter Claffey says. “You should’ve done tall,” Ansell quips.

“Short. Fun. Earthy,” producer and showrunner Ira Parker says.
