Those of us who saw The Lord of the Rings in theaters when we were young were likely, justifiably, a little bit terrified of Galadriel. Not only could she go photo-negative at the drop of a hat - she had the uncanny ability to produce visions of terror arguably more frightening than anything that actually happened in the cinematic trilogy. These days, Galadriel's visions are on the small screen, but according to the actor playing her in The Rings of Power, her visions will be just as terrifying.

Terrifying, even, to Galadriel herself.

That actor is, of course, Morfydd Clark, who has been portraying one of Tolkien's most powerful elven icons since season one of Prime Video's Middle-earth adaptation. Speaking to Empire Magazine for their summer issue, Clark got into what was going on in her character's head for the upcoming third season of Rings of Power.

"It seemed to me that these Elves have just such intense, intrusive thoughts," Clark opined, "Constantly, about what's going to happen... She's having an absolutely crazy time in her mind. So that's quite fun to play. I feel like she is kind of alone in the way that her mind and the ring and Sauron affect her."

The relationship between Sauron and Galadriel continues to be one of the most fascinating, if also canonically dubious, elements of The Rings of Power, and that loneliness Clark describes is a serious driving factor behind it. We do know that, with the introduction of Jamie Campbell Bower's Celeborn this season, Galadriel will be less alone - but will finding her lost love be enough to quell her visions of doom?
