Chloe Bennet is a singer, actress, and model. It turns out, she almost added Jedi Knight to that list.
When Lucasfilm began casting for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Bennet auditioned to play Rey. At the time she was still starring in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., so Marvel Television had to rearrange their production schedule.
“I did audition for Star Wars,” Bennet says. “We were shooting S.H.I.E.L.D., and I had to get all this permission to go. They had to move production for me to go audition. It was during a really intense two episodes of SHIELD, I really don’t remember. So, I was very distracted. I don’t know if you guys have seen it, but I didn’t get it. That one didn’t go well.”
Bennet clarified that she was reading for Rey. If you’ve seen Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., then you know Bennet is very good at action scenes. While the ship has sailed on her being Rey, it would be interesting to have her show up as a Jedi Knight in another Star Wars project.
