The MCU series VisionQuest will explore "intergenerational pain with lasers" and "a lot of jokes," says star Paul Bettany

Paul Bettany calls VisionQuest “a really good end to the trilogy that honors what I think WandaVision was to people.”

In 2021, Vision was rebuilt by S.W.O.R.D., who programmed him to be a weapon. After regaining his memories in the final episode of WandaVision, Vision flew off to figure out his place in the world. The android hasn’t been seen since.

Next year, Vision’s story will pick up in the Disney+ series VisionQuest. Paul Bettany, who has played Vision since his introduction in Avengers; Age of Ultron, is excited for fans to see the next step in the character’s journey.

“I just finished VisionQuest, and I think you’re really going to love it. It’s great. It’s a really good end to the trilogy that honors what I think WandaVision was to people,” Bettany says during a panel at Space Con 2025.

Bettany told the crowd that he couldn’t give any spoilers, but he gave everyone a small tease about what they can expect regarding tone and themes.

“My show is about intergenerational pain with lasers. And a lot of jokes. That’s what it is. Fathers and sons and stuff.”

VisionQuest is expected to premiere on Disney+ in late 2026.
