DC Studios' Maxwell Lord actor Sean Gunn is "really looking forward" to HBO Max's Lanterns

Sean Gunn calls Lanterns' showrunners Damon Lindelof and Tom King "geniuses".

Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre will star as the Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and John Stewart in the upcoming DC Universe show Lanterns, which will also feature Nathan Fillion's Guy Gardner, the most abrasive and bowl-cut Green Lantern who debuted in Superman. The new detective show featuring the intergalactic wielders of the Green Lantern Power Ring investigating a murder on earth are comic book artist Tom King, who's won acclaim for his Mister Miracle, Vision and Batman comics, and Damen Lindelof, who created Lost, The Leftovers and the HBO Watchmen series.

Sean Gunn, who plays the DC Universe characters Maxwell Lord, Weasel, and G.I. Robot, is hyped for the HBO Max show.

"I'm really looking forward to Lanterns a great deal," Sean Gunn says at FAN EXPO Chicago. "I think Damen Lindelof and Tom King are both geniuses. The idea of seeing that show is very exciting."

Superman came out in July. Peacemaker releases this month. Supergirl and Lanterns come out next year.

"There's other stuff I can't talk about too much. There's things that are starting to pop up that are cool," Sean Gunn says at FAN EXPO Chicago.

Lanterns is set to be released on HBO Max in early 2026.
