Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1 release date: When Diana Gabaldon's time-traveling romance arrives on Starz

A prequel to the beloved series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood is coming to Starz this summer.

True, love isn't always on time, but in the case of the Outlander stories, you could be holding the line for longer than you think. Fortunately, the release date for the upcoming Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1 will be here before you know. In Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, viewers will follow the story of the parents of Claire Beauchamp and Jamie Fraser. So when will the anticipated prequel be available to watch?

The Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1 release date is August 8 at 9:00 PM/8:00 PM central on Starz. The first season of the prequel will be ten episodes long. The prequel is a spinoff of the ongoing Outlander series that began in 2014. Outlander: Blood of My Blood will be a weekly release. And don't worry about the story ending too soon, as the show has already been renewed for a second season, with production underway as of June. The prequel is just one of the many exciting upcoming TV shows heading your way this summer. Here's the teaser trailer to tide you over:

Like the original series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood will be a love story that traverses time itself. In the prequel, viewers will learn the love stories of the respective parents of Claire and Jamie. In 18th century Scotland, the story will follow Jamie's parents Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy). And centuries later, in World War I era England, the story will follow Claire's parents Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine).

Season 1 of Outlander: Blood of My Blood will be released on August 8 at 9/8c on Starz.
