The prequel is a spinoff of the ongoing Outlander series that began in 2014. Outlander: Blood of My Blood will be a weekly release. Like the original series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood will be a love story that traverses time itself. In the prequel, viewers will learn the love stories of the respective parents of Claire and Jamie. In 18th century Scotland, the story will follow Jamie's parents Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy). And centuries later, in World War I era England, the story will follow Claire's parents Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine).
