The sophomore season of the hilarious Peacemaker series from James Gunn's DCU will be back on HBO Max this summer.

Do you really wanna, do you really wanna taste it? Peacemaker season 2 is heading to HBO Max before you know it. It's only a matter of time before the release date for the highly anticipated sophomore season of James Gunn's hilarious DC Universe series arrives. Starring John Cena as Christopher Smith/Peacemaker, the second season of the darkly comedic superhero series will see the introduction of even more exciting DCU characters to the call sheet.

The Peacemaker season 2 release date is August 21 on HBO Max. Like the first season, the second season of Peacemaker will consist of eight episodes. On social media, Gunn announced that new episodes would be released on a weekly basis. This will put the season finale on October 9. In the time since Peacemaker season 1 concluded in February 2022, the show has only grown more popular. For that reason, it is sure to stand out in a summer filled with exciting new TV releases. Here's the show's trailer:

In addition to Cena, Peacemaker season 2 stars Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt and Steve Agee as John Economos. Also appearing is Robert Patrick as August "Auggie" Smith/White Dragon. Plus, Peacemaker season 2 will feature plenty of exciting new additions to the cast. These include Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Tim Meadows as Langston Fleury and Gunn mainstay Michael Rooker as Red St. Wild, with the latter on a mission to hunt and kill Peacemaker's beloved pet Eagly. And as you may have noticed in the trailer above, this season will also feature appearances by Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern and Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord.
Season 2 of Peacemaker will be released on August 21 on HBO Max.
