Maybe the Peacemaker cast and crew came to San Diego Comic Con 2025 to talk about Chris Smith, but there was a lot said at the show's Hall H panel about one Clark Kent. However, DCU head James Gunn (who directed two episodes of the upcoming Peacemaker season 2 and, of course, 2025's Superman) did a gerat job of making sure that those two topics were really one. Much to the excitement of all the DC Comics fans in the audience, Gunn actually explained a lot of how Superman sets up the next chapter in the Peacemaker saga.

In case you weren't aware, Peacemaker season 2 returns us to the story of the titular, needlessly violent antihero who first appeared in Gunn's The Suicide Squad. That story starts up again in our world in just about a month from the release of the David Corenswet-starring Superman, and it kicks off in the fictional world of the DCU at much the same place. Yes, Gunn confirmed that Peacemaker season 2 will take place about a month after the events of Superman.

But that wasn't the only tidbit of information Gunn was willing to share with Hall H. As you already know if you've seen the first Peacemaker season 2 trailer, there are going to be a few familiar faces for anyone who caught the Man of Steel in theaters recently. Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, and Maxwell Lord are already confirmed, but Gunn hinted that wasn't the end of the list.

"Anytime I can have Nathan [Fillion, who plays Green Lantern Guy Gardner] put on that stupid haircut," Gunn said, "I'm gonna do it. [...] And Isabella [Merced, Hawgirl] is such a joy to be around. And I don't know, maybe there's a couple other people wandering these halls that are in Superman, that are also in Peacemaker season 2."

Quick folks, everybody check the SDCC guest list to see who he could possibly be talking about! Gunn might be playing it coy, but we've got the internet and plenty of time on our side.

Peacemaker season 2 comes to HBO Max August 21.
