Turns out that saving the world is a pretty thankless task. The teaser for Peacemaker season two dropped this week ahead of the full trailer releasing on Friday and shows just how difficult it can be to get recognition for your hard work when none of it technically happened. The big question posed by the teaser trailer, though, is what is going to bring the 11th Street Kids back together again?
Teaser trailers like this aren’t really meant to give you any idea about the plot of a show; instead, they’re meant to show the vibe the show is going for. In the case of Peacemaker season two, it certainly feels like the team who saved the world from the Butterfly invasion in the first season is feeling pretty unappreciated at the moment. We see glimpses of Emilia Harcourt’s anger issues and Vigilante’s obvious disappointment that he returned to the glamorous life of a fast food worker.
The problem with being a black ops agent and antihero, of course, is that you can’t really get the recognition you deserve for saving the world. After the world discarded Peacemaker and his team, they were left with nothing to show for their efforts. At least, until Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr. shows up looking for revenge against the man who killed his son in The Suicide Squad. Namely, Peacemaker himself.
Peacemaker season two is out on Max on August 21, 2025, just over a month after Superman becomes the first entry in James Gunn’s new DCU on the big screen.
