The one Smallville regret Tom Welling has is about Batman & Bruce Wayne, and even has a fancast of who it should've been

Smallville may have been an origin story for Superman, but that doesn’t mean Clark Kent didn’t run into other DC Universe heroes. Over the course of the show’s ten seasons, Clark Kent teamed up with Bart Allen, Aquaman, Green Arrow, and even the Justice Society. However, Welling’s biggest regret is that the series never got around to introducing Bruce Wayne.
“One character I wish we would’ve seen even briefly would’ve been like a Bruce Wayne,” Tom Welling says during a Smallville panel at MCM London Comic Con 2022. "I thought that would’ve been cool. Like maybe Lex and him cross paths or something, but that’s the maybe one regret that I have, but there’s higher ups that make those decisions.”
Ultimately the decision to have Bruce Wayne on the show was vetoed by Warner Brothers executives, who didn’t want another live-action version of Batman on television while Chris Nolan was producing his Dark Knight trilogy. Still, when asked who his dream Bruce Wayne would be, Welling had an interesting answer.
“Keanu Reeves,” Welling says.
Now that would’ve been cool to see.
