What we’ve always loved about Star Wars: Visions is how it brings so many different directors and studios into the Star Wars family and allows them to be so beautifully weird together. However, as much as we love the fantastic action of episodes like 'The Duel,' one episode from Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 that we’re most excited about is the Studio Ghibli-esque 'Yuko’s Treasure' from Masaki Tachibana and Kimena Citruc Co, which looks so cute we could cry.
The story of 'Yuko’s Treasure' takes place in a city we’ve known about since A New Hope, Mos Eisley. It follows the titular Yuko, an orphan who was raised by a droid named Billy. However, we’ve never seen a droid like Billy before – he is a giant blue teddy bear who has a microwave oven in his stomach. Like a snack-producing Teletubby.
We got to see a short clip of 'Yuko’s Treasure' at Star Wars Celebration 2025, which showed Billy trying to find Yuko in the streets of Mos Eisley only to catch her speeding along into a stack of boxes and sending them tumbling over, much to the dismay of the nearby Jawas. It is easy to compare Billy to Totoro in his design as he bumbles through crowds to find his charge and keep her safe. The colors and character designs scream Studio Ghibli and we mean that as the highest form of praise. Star Wars has never looked this adorable.
'Yuko’s Treasure' will be part of Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 when it is released on October 29, 2025 on Disney+.
