The Simpsons have found their next Milhouse voice actor - and she debuts this Sunday, as a grown-up Milhouse Van Houten

Blue smoke rises from the 20th Animation Studios HQ - The Simpsons has chosen a new Milhouse

Everything comes up Milhouse, eventually.

That certainly seems to be the case in the latest piece of news out of The Simpsons world. You'll recall Popverse telling you that Pamela Hayden, Milhouse's voice actor for 36 seasons, was retiring last year. Now, we know who will be picking up the mantle of Springfield's lovable loser, and even when the new Milhouse will make her debut.

The story comes from Entertainment Weekly, who announced on May 16 that singer Kelly Macleod of the band Private Life will fill the shoes and shorts of Milhouse Van Houten. And don't worry about Macleod coming unprepared - EW points out that the singer has been a guest in Springfield before, lending her voice to season 33's Bart the Cool Kid.

Now, as the series continues its march toward the staggering 800th episode, it's been revealed that Macleod will portray Milhouse in the season 36 finale, Estranger Things. However, Macleod will be entering the stage during a slightly different kind of set list - the episode will introduce her as an adult version of Milhouse, in a Marge-imagined future regarding the charcacter's relationship with Lisa.

Also interesting to note - Macleo'd Milhouse will reportedly only have one line in the episode.

Well hey, we always knew that the actor to pick up where such a Simpsons staple as Hayden would have to be given ample time to prepare, and with the future of The Simpson's currently continuing indefinitely, there will be lots of future opportunities for Macleod to make the role her own.

"There's plenty of Milhouse to go around," as the man himself once said.
