Wonder Man season 1 ending explained: What's going on with the ending of the MCU's new Disney+ show?

All 8 episodes of Wonder Man are now streaming on Disney+, and we break down the ending of the finale here

Warning: major spoilers for Wonder Man on Disney+ are ahead!

So the MCU's new show, Wonder Man, has dropped all eight of its episodes on Disney+ now. And if you're reading this, chances are you've already binged the whole series - at least, I hope you've finished watching the show. Now, let's take a look at how Marvel Studios ended things with Simon Williams and Trevor Slattery.

What happens in the Wonder Man ending?

As you might remember, after Simon Williams found out on the set of Wonder Man that his new best friend and co-star, Trevor Slattery, was actually working with the Department of Damage Control and collecting information on him, the actor walked into a soundstage and let his superpowers loose. Simon nearly leveled the soundstage in his grief. But, in order to protect Simon's nascent Hollywood career, Trevor decided to take the fall for his best friend, donning the robes, sunglasses, and accent of The Mandarin once more in a video message where he took responsibility for the explosion on the Wonder Man set. Trevor got arrested by the Department of Damage Control, leaving Simon shocked by the turn of events. As a result of Trevor's actions, Simon's secret - that he has superpowers - goes undiscovered by both the authorities and the cast and crew of Wonder Man.

Some time passes, and Simon is in a remote part of the desert, shadowing an average guy named Chuck Eastman for an undisclosed movie role. Simon goes to work with Chuck, which is when we find out that Chuck works at a Damage Control facility. Chuck had managed to fudge some paperwork for Simon, getting him into the facility under the name 'Alfonso.' And shortly after they enter the facility, Chuck learns that a massive amount of money has been deposited into his family's bank account - enough to finally pay off the medical bills for one of their children. Simon heads into the bowels of the facility, where he finds Trevor and uses his powers to free his friend from his jail cell. The two actors then break out of Damage Control's facility, flying off into the desert towards freedom.

Were there any Wonder Man deaths?

Nope, unless you want to count Trevor Slattery's acting career.

What and who are the Wonder Man big surprises?

One of the big surprises of Wonder Man is that Simon Williams does manage to land the title role in Von Kovak's Wonder Man, all without anyone in Hollywood finding out that he has superpowers. And, the movie goes on to be a huge success. The man had an explosive crash out (literally) in the middle of filming the movie, but still managed to come out alright on the other side. Good for him!

What are the Wonder Man post-credits scenes?

There are no post-credits scenes for Wonder Man, leaving Simon Williams' future within the MCU completely open. I'd love for him to be a part of the West Coast Avengers, but only time will tell.

Will there be a Wonder Man season 2?

At this time of writing, there has been no announcement for a Wonder Man season 2. Let's keep our fingers crossed, though.
