One of the most anticipated projects for Star Wars fans, especially for Star Wars animation fans, is the upcoming Disney+ series Ahsoka. Drawing from animated shows including Star Wars Rebels and The Clone Wars and building off of Rosario Dawson’s appearance in The Mandalorian, Ahsoka is intended to tell a new story, revealing the next chapter for a beloved character. But it isn’t just the fans who are excited about the show, the people behind the show are excited about it too.

At this year's Star Wars Celebration, Popverse had a chance to chat with Matthew Wood, the Supervising Sound Editor at Skywalker Sound and the voice behind Star Wars characters including General Grievous in Revenge of the Sith, Bib Fortuna in The Mandalorian, and Kylo Ren in Star Wars Resistance.

Though Wood has been working on all sorts of Star Wars projects for more than two decades, he was particularly excited to chat about Ahsoka. About the show he said, “I’ve been working with Dave Filoni since he started at Lucasfilm —- it’s been 15 plus years. It’s been amazing to work with him all the way through live action and to see the culmination of his animation work into live action. It’s satisfying, surreal. I can’t wait for the fans to get a glimpse of it come August. It’s Rebels, it’s Clone Wars. It’s characters George Lucas and Dave Filoni collaborated on. It’s the most exciting project I’m working on.”
