What’s a little language barrier between two love-struck high school students? Ayla Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian is an upcoming anime that is set to air during the Summer 2024 anime season that focuses on two awkward high school sweethearts separated by a common language. It is an incredibly fun take on the anime rom-com formula and we’re excitedly looking forward to the Ayla Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian season one release date.

Unfortunately, this being a seasonal anime, we won’t know the exact release date for Ayla Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian until later in the year. We expect it to begin airing in the first two weeks of July along with the rest of the Summer 2024 anime offerings, but the exact date won’t be confirmed until probably mid-June.

Ayla Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian follows Alisa – often called Ayla – as she shoulders the terrible burden of being the most beautiful girl at her school. Her classmate, Masachika Kuze, is a lazy boy who tends to sleep in class. Alisa is outwardly annoyed by his behavior but secretly she makes flirtatious remarks to Masachika in her father’s native tongue, Russian, assuming he doesn’t understand her. The twist is that he speaks Russian himself, a fact he keeps to himself.

The tension between Ayla becoming more flirtatious with Masachika and him struggling with his own growing feelings toward her without being able to reveal them is the core of this romantic comedy. We won’t have to wait much longer to see the first episode of Ayla Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian when it premiers in July 2024.
