Who wins when two unstoppable fighting machines meet each other? Everyone watching, of course. Two of the greatest fighting manga of all time, Baki and Kengan Ashura, are getting ready to go head-to-head in an upcoming crossover anime on Netflix. It will be a battle of strength, skill, and gloriously unrealistic muscle tone for the ages as Baki Hanma vs Kengan Ashura comes to Netflix later this year.

The idea of these two popular anime coming together isn’t unheard of. Even beyond being two of the biggest names in fighting anime, Baki and Kengan Ashura have a similar enough visual style – which focuses on lovingly detailing and shading every tiny muscle in the characters’ bodies – and their protagonists’ journeys of violence and revenge make them well suited for each other. The Baki Hanma vs. Kengan Ashura crossover anime will debut on June 6, 2024 on Netflix.

The biggest question facing fans as the crossover’s premiere approaches isn’t who to root for but if they’ll actually be able to finish their fight. Far too often in crossover events like this, there is an unwritten rule that you can’t allow either side to be seen as weaker than the other, which results in their match getting interrupted by a third party, like in Godzilla vs. Kong. Which can be fun to watch, provided the show is billed as a team-up. But this is called Baki Hanma vs. Kengan Ashura. It either needs to end with the two fighting until a winner is named or they need to establish that the pair are in the ring, battling into eternity because they are so evenly matched.

Who is the strongest fighter? We’ll find out when the Baki Hanma vs. Kengan Ashura crossover anime comes to Netflix on June 6, 2024.
