The comic industry is coming together this week for the largest meeting of the minds of the year in the B2B-focused event known as ComicsPRO’s Annual Comic Industry Meeting. The event, an annual affair organized by the non-profit comics retailer organization Comics PRO, brings retailers, publishers, and other vendors in on eplace to discuss trends, talk opportunities, and make deals.

At this year's event, BOOM! Studios is one of the largest companies exhibiting this year and we have a first look at their plans.

"2024 is a big year for BOOM! Studios as we celebrate milestone anniversaries of some of the biggest modern franchises in the industry, and usher in new must-read stories by creators who we’ve never had the pleasure of working with and some of our favorite returning talent,” says BOOM! Studios President of Publishing and Marketing, Filip Sablik. “With the ever changing market, we’re proud to deliver a highly curated slate of fan-favorite and hit new series for everyone coupled with the best retail partner support in the industry.”

BOOM! Studios' full direct market sales team is scheduled to be at ComicsPRO, as well as celebrity talent including the original Pink Ranger Amy Jo Johnson (who is writing the comic Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return), Pornsak Pichetshote and Jesse Lonergan (Man’s Best), Ed Brisson (The Displaced), Tony Fleecs and Dave Wachter (Uncanny Valley), and Claudio Sanchez and Chondra Echert (The Amory Wars: No World For Tomorrow).

Sanchez, who is the frontman for the band Coheed & Cambria, is also performing an exclusive, private performance of his acoustic/electronica project The Prizefighter Inferno for ComicsPRO attendees on Thursday, February 22.

BOOM! Studios will also be announcing multiple new projects for 2024 at Comics PRO, which Popverse will be covering as details become available.

BOOM! will also be focusing on four major anniversaries the company is having this year: the fifth anniversary of Something Is Killing the Children, the 10-year anniversary of co-creator James Tynion IV's debut with the company, the 10-year anniversary of the company-defining series Lumberjanes, and the 10-year anniversary of BOOM!'s young-adult imprint BOOM! Box.

BOOM! Studios is bring some thank you gifts for comic stores attending ComicsPRO in the form of seven items exclusive to the event. They will be rare variant covers to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return #1 and The Displaced #1, an ashcan edition of Man's Best #1, and exclusive posters for Uncanny Valley and The Amory Wars: No World For Tomorrow.

“Huge things are happening this year, and ComicsPro will be the industry's first look into the exciting endeavors we’ll be taking in 2024,” says Josh Hayes, Vice President, Sales. “I firmly believe there has never been a better year to be a BOOM! Studios comics fan.”

ComicsPRO’s Annual Comic Industry Meeting takes place February 22- 24.
