Boy Meets World's Will Friedle recalls how Batman Beyond helped him grow as an actor

Working with veterans like the late Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill had an impact

Batman Beyond was actor Will Friedle's first voice over role, but you may not have known given how seemless his performance as Terry McGinnis was.

Friedle became a very familiar face and name in the '90s thanks to a little show by the name of Boy Meets World. While Friedle had predominantly been an on camera actor, he was being pursued for a new, Batman animated series. Stepping into this role as a complete beginner in voice acting would be a different experience for the young actor, but working with veteran voice over talent, directors, and casting legends, would open many doors for Friedle, including landing roles like Ron Stoppable in the hit Disney series Kim Possible! (I am grateful every day that Will singing the Naked Mole Rap exists.)

During an appearance at New York Comic Con 2019, the actor recalled how playing the role of Terry McGinnis helped him grow, and how working with talents like the late Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill made him more confident in purusing additional voice acting jobs.

"I had never done a voiceover before, Kevin [Conroy] was a veteran," Friedle begins. "And so he very generously came and took me under his wing and kind of taught me the ropes." Friedle continued, "I was much more confident in myself after having worked with Kevin [Conroy] and everybody."
