DC's Absolute Batman #25 is becoming oversized just like its hero, for the first "big" 1-on-1 with Absolute Joker
Absolute Batman #25 marks the end of one era, and the start of another says Nick Dragotta and Scott Snyder.

If you thought Absolute Batman was a little swole, wait until you read October's Absolute Batman #25. It'll be more pages than normal issues — "oversized" in comics industry terminology.
“It’s kind of a turning point," says series artist Nick Dragotta during DC's Absolute Universe panel at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2026. "The pieces are set. And the next 25 [issues] are where all the pieces fall and who these characters all become."
That dovetails into what series writer Scott Snyder said recently about how Absolute Batman #25 is a turning point.
"So, the second half of this 50-issue stretch is really about now letting these pieces really clash and interact and grow," Snyder said.
“[Absolute Batman #25] might have the biggest surprise of all,” says Dragotta during the panel.
"In #25, " Snyder adds, "we have our first really big confrontation between Joker and Batman, and that’s where we’re headed. It’s the moment we’ve been building to for 25 issues."

Absolute Batman ships monthly, with Absolute Batman #25 anticipated for this October.
