What is different about Absolute Wonder Woman?

What sets the Absolute Universe version apart from the classic version of Wonder Woman has two sides: the in-story differences, but also the outside meta differences.

In the story of the Absolute Wonder Woman series, this Diana grew up very differently from the one we know from comics, TV, and movies. She wasn't raised in Themyscira by the Amazons, but instead raised in the Greek gods' idea of hell by what is normally her most venomous foe, Circe. In the nature vs. nurture debate, it's both here, as it's the Diana you know, but with the experiences of a mother figure cloaked in magic and darkness.

On the meta side, Absolute Wonder Woman was created by Kelly Thompson and Hayden Sherman with all those classic Wonder Woman comics, TV shows, and movies as a guide. But with all those stories out there, they found an open lane and a vital story to tell in creating a very different version of Diana while still being the Diana we have all been fans of for decades.

Is Absolute Wonder Woman LGBTQ?

Just as the traditional Wonder Woman in DC Comics' mainline comics has been shown numerous times to be bisexual, Kelly Thompson has confirmed that she's writing the Absolute Wonder Woman to be queer but hasn't (yet?) had that manifest in the book.
