Dan Mora may no longer be DC exclusive, but he isn't done with DC; he's signed on to draw an awesome-sounding Batman series debuting this fall called Knightfight. In the series, Batman will be jumping through alternate futures and fighting all the various Robins who end up becoming Batman, the way Dick Grayson has done in the main DCU.

Announced during the DC All In: What's Next? Panel at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2025, the series will be by the current Superman duo of writer Joshua Williamson and artist Dan Mora.

"One of Batman's biggest fears is, what will happen to his children?" says Williamson. It's Batman up against the Robins... but the versions of those Robins IF they became Batman. "It's Batman/Jason Todd, Batman/Damian, Batman/Dick."

Scott Snyder, who was on the panel with Williamson, joked that "I always said, if you don't wanna write it, I'll write it."

Interestingly, the name 'Knight Fight' was something that's been bandied about the halls of DC for years. Former Batman writer Tom King said that it was an idea for a DC event where members of the Bat-family would duke it out in a tournament.

"[There was] a retreat a long time ago, a sort of famous retreat, with me, Scott Snyder, Becky Cloonan, and James Tynion, and we were trying to plan a Batman event," King told GamesRadar+ back in 2024. "So we jokingly came up with something called 'Knight Fight,' Knight with a 'K,' and the joke pitch was that all the Bat-characters would get together for a tournament. We just joked over who would win, and we all just decided that it would be Black Canary, because she's the second best fighter in the DC Universe."

King's Knight Fight project never materialized, but it ended up inspiring his recent Black Canary series with Ryan Sook.

Williamson and Mora's Knightfight debuts this November, according to Williamson.
