Chainsaw Man has always been full of surprises, with unexpected twists and shocking moments throughout its run. However, the most surprising thing about the most recent chapter of Chainsaw Man is that the manga is coming to an end soon. A shocking message at the end of Chainsaw Man 231 revealed that the final chapter would be Chapter 232 in just two weeks.

For those keeping track, this is technically the second time that the Chainsaw Man manga has ended. Chainsaw Man Part 1 ended in December 2020. During the ensuing hiatus, creator Tatsuki Fujimoto published his excellent Look Back and Goodbye, Eri one-shots before going back to work on Chainsaw Man Part 2 in July 2022. This new era of Chainsaw Man brought a new protagonist and tone to the manga.

If the news that Chainsaw Man is ending again is surprising, it is because the news kind of came out of nowhere. The current arc of Chainsaw Man still feels like it has a lot of legs, and the manga’s readership remains high. MAPPA, the studio behind the anime, just released Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc in late 2025, which was a hit with both fans and at the box office. This feels like a time when the series should be building momentum rather than coming to an abrupt halt.

Currently, the Chainsaw Man anime, through both the TV series and the movie, has adapted the first 52 chapters of Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man manga. So that means there's a lot of story left before a Chainsaw Man anime ending should be contemplated.

Of course, even though the Chainsaw Man manga is ending, this doesn’t mean it is the end of Chainsaw Man forever. The manga series came back from a long hiatus before. It is entirely possible that Fujimoto, who is absolutely on top form as a writer and an artist at the moment, needs another break before he returns to his most popular work. So we won’t say goodbye to Chainsaw Man completely just yet, as the final chapter may leave the door open for more in the future.

Chainsaw Man 232, the final chapter of the manga (for now), is out on March 25, 2026.
