No one likes it when their favorite manga goes on hiatus, especially when it is enjoying a huge surge in popularity. After being one of the biggest anime hits last year, the Dan Da Dan manga is going on a one-month hiatus. As much as we’re desperate to read more of Okarun and Momo Ayase, the series could probably do with a break.
No reason for the hiatus has been given yet, but it feels like the right time for it. If you’ve been keeping up with Dan Da Dan, you’ll know that Yukinobu Tatsu has been producing some of the most frantic, detailed art in comics every week for nearly four years. We were actually a bit shocked to discover that it was on a weekly schedule when we saw the big splash pages and two-page spreads that regularly adorn the fight scenes. The art in Dan Da Dan is unbelievably good considering a new chapter comes out every week.
With the weeks off, Tatsu can hopefully take some time to recharge and relax before giving the upcoming arc in Dan Da Dan the careful planning that it needs. Without getting into spoilers, there is a sense that the story is building to its climax so this feels like the perfect time for the series to take a break. Chapter 183 is due out on February 25, 2025.
While it is on a one-month hiatus, you can catch up on the Dan Da Dan manga on the Shonen Jump or Manga Plus apps. The first season of the anime is streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix and a second season is due to air in October 2025.
