Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy finally get the love story they deserve in November from DC Comics
"To be able to tell the story of how they got together is a thirty-year dream come true," says creator Erica Henderson of November's new DC comic book series, Harley and Ivy: Life and Crimes

Sure, we all know that Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are endgame when it comes to superhero relationships now, but how did the two of them even get started? The roots of their romance have never been fully explored in comic book form… but that’s about to change this November, thanks to new series Harley and Ivy: Life and Crimes.
The six issue series comes from writer/artist Erica Henderson, who’s already won fans over with her work on 2024’s Harley Quinn Annual — but this time around, she’s going back in time in DC canon to tell the definitive version of the relationship between the two anti-heroes (and part-time Batman antagonists, although both have left the Dark Knight in the dust in recent years, as he deserves).
Here’s how DC describes the six-issue series: “Because you demanded it — a new series entirely about Harley and Ivy’s relationship! Witness the entire story of the DCU’s number-one criminal couple from the very start! Eisner Award-winning artist and writer Erica Henderson weaves the canonical story of how Ivy and Harley went from enemies to friends to lovers! See their first kiss, their first embrace, their first fight, the first time Harley went to the bathroom with the door open in front of Ivy (that one is a joke, jeez), etc.! You’re gonna love the way this book makes you look — we guarantee it!”
It feels safe to say that this is going to be one origin story that stands out from the crowd. In case you need some more convincing, take a look at the preview images from the first issue:

“As a child of the 90's, I grew up with Batman: The Animated Series. I can honestly say that I've been invested in Harley and Ivy as a couple since before the age of 10,” Henderson told Popverse. “To be able to tell the story of how they got together is a thirty-year dream come true. Since this is a prequel, we all know where this story will wind up (Spoiler alert for the previous two sentences, they're dating), but the fun will be in the details. Personality-wise, they're not an obvious match, but I'm excited to explore why they work so well together.”
Harley and Ivy: Life and Crimes #1 launches November 5.
