Ram V may be one of DC's most popular writers of the last several years, but as of right now, he's got no plans to join the publisher's ultra-successful Absolute line, which reinvents classic characters with new origins and adventures, though he has been in touch with the line's de facto leader, Absolute Batman writer Scott Snyder.

"I'm not doing anything on the Absolute side of things," V states in a League of Comic Geeks AMA when asked if he's considered an Absolute Aquaman title. "While Scott's been welcoming, I usually don't have books suggested to me. I've almost always picked the projects I'd like to work on. And I'd been doing so much superheroing, I felt the need to step away. My attention is largely focused on Deicidium for now. I'm glad everyone's enjoying staggering work on the Absolute stuff though!"

Ram V recently finished up a two-year 'exclusive contract with DC. 

V did in fact write Aquaman once already in his cosmically esoteric Aquaman: Andromeda, created alongside artist Christian Ward, which pits the king of the seas against his old nemesis Black Manta, with a strange mystery brewing beneath the seas. But he's still unsure whether he'd go back to Arthur Curry whether in the main universe or the Absolute line.

"Will I return to any character? Honestly depends on whether I have a meaningful story to tell or if I'm being offered something particularly interesting," V states, also clarifying that he doesn't necessarily have a list of characters he's looking to take on. "I don't really spend too much time thinking about what characters I'd like to write. I know I'd love to take on a Dr. Strange book at some point."

V is currently prepping a new volume of his New Gods title while also working on his creator-owned title Deicidium with New Gods artist Evan Cagle.
