We’ve previously shared our excitement surrounding Evermind, the indie comic book project from Westworld actor Daniel Wu and artist Sean Chen — and now we’re even more excited to report that the story is close to being completed with help from creators including Alan Davis, Howard Chaykin, and Moon Knight fan-favorite Stephen Platt… oh, and you, as well.
In case you don’t remember, here’s how publisher 247 Comics describes the series: “In a near-future where consciousness can be transferred into advanced machines, brilliant but egotistical scientist Lucas Zhang creates the revolutionary Neurolink technology. To fund his work, he partners with entertainment mogul Armand Germain, powering both Bobo World, a children’s theme park of mecha gorillas, and Underwhirl, an underground playground of adult vice. When ruthless paramilitary corporations weaponize his invention, Lucas and his estranged activist daughter Gen are forced to fight for survival—while trapped in the bodies of a hulking theme-park gorilla and a pleasure-bot. A darkly funny, high-stakes thriller, Evermind asks how far we’ll go to save the people we love — and what it means when the technology meant to free us becomes the very thing that could end us.”
Ahead of an appearance at New York Comic Con 2025, 247 is partnering with VeVe Digital Collectibles to announce the launch of a Kickstarter campaign for Evermind: The Complete Collection, which will feature the first three issues already published, as well as the final three as-yet-unseen issues, all from the creative team of Wu and Chen. In addition to the complete story, the campaign will also offer a slate of exclusive releases, including variant covers from Alan Davis, Howard Chaykin, Stephen Platt, Briane Andan (providing a Kpop Demon Hunters homage, no less!), Riccardo Federici, and Peejay Catacutan.

With both 247 and VeVe involved, the campaign will be offering both physical and digital releases as rewards for different pledge tiers.
“Evermind represents everything we believe in—bold storytelling, visionary creators, and a direct connection between fans and the art they love,” Carl Choi, 247 Comics co-founder and CEO, said in a statement. “Partnering with VeVe at NYCC allows us to celebrate this milestone in a way that merges both physical and digital collecting for the fans.”
David Yu, CEO and co-founder of VeVe agreed: “VeVe’s mission has always been to connect fans to the stories and characters they love in new and meaningful ways. Bringing Evermind to NYCC is the perfect showcase of how digital collectibles and creator-driven comics can come together for an unforgettable fan experience.”
The upcoming Kickstarter campaign — you can currently sign up to be notified of its imminent launch — will be supported by Evermind exclusives from VeVe for NYCC 2025, as well as Wu and Chen signing at the VeVe booth (#3327) on Saturday, October 11 at 12:30pm and then a second signing at 3pm.
