The secret stealth cover for Exquisite Corpses #6 is sneaking up behind you even as you read this...

Want to see the stealth variant cover for October's Exquisite Corpses from Beneath the Trees where Nobody Sees artist Patrick Horvath? Click through - if you dare!

For a series about serial killers taking over a small town for a deadly killing contest on Halloween, it’s only fitting that Tiny Onion’s Exquisite Corpses should have a surprise or two hidden up its sleeve, creeping up behind when you least expect it — like, for example, a surprise stealth cover to every issue by some of comics’ finest artists. Want to see an exclusive sneak peek for yourself?

Each and every issue of the series created and overseen by James Tynion IV and Michael Walsh has been released with ‘stealth’ covers, with artists contributing to the sneaky secret variant covers to date including The Walking Dead’s Charlie Adlard, Tyler Crook, and Tula Lotay. The latest stealth variant — for Exquisite Corpses #5, released September 17 — comes from the great Sebastián Fiumara, and looks like this:

…But, like I said: that one’s in stores now. Anyone can see that one… why don’t we share something that no-one else has seen? Like, say, Patrick Horvath’s stealth cover for October’s #6?

That’s the stuff. Here’s what Horvath — a Popverse favorite for his work on Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees — has to say about his spotlight on the serial killer known as Rascal Randy: "The Corpse Crew has set-up such a rich cast of characters, and as I was brainstorming cover ideas, it immediately got me thinking about what Randy's past exploits might have been. ‘Birthday party massacre’ popped into my mind for some reason. It seemed like such a sinister twist on something so wholesome, and it seemed to fit him perfectly. I was thrilled that they loved the idea as well! It's a major treat to participate with this cool series in a small way.”

The issue, written and drawn by Tynion, Walsh, Tyler Boss (You’ll Do Bad Things) and Gavin Fullerton (The Closet), will be released October 22 by Image Comics; in addition to Horvath’s stealth cover, the issue will also feature covers by Walsh, Fullerton, Boss, and David Lopez.
