Generally, new chapters of Classroom of the Elite come out every month in Monthly Comic Alive in Japan. They are usually uploaded to the magazine’s website shortly after. There are occasional breaks, usually between arcs or during holidays in Japan, but these are relatively rare.

Is Classroom of the Elite ongoing?

The Classroom of the Elite manga is still ongoing. While the original manga finished several years ago, it was followed by Classroom of the Elite Year 2. That manga finished in December 2024, but Classroom of the Elite Year 2 2nd Stage began just a month later and continues running today. Additionally, the original Classroom of the Elite light novel, which is the basis for the manga and the anime, is still ongoing, with the Year 3 storyline starting in May 2025.

When is the next chapter of Classroom of the Elite out?

Classroom of the Elite Year 2 2nd Stage chapter 13 will be released on June 26, 2026 in Japan, according to the Monthly Comic Alive website. However, that will be the Japanese version. As of right now, there aren’t any plans to translate the chapter into English until it is released. The most recent English release of the Classroom of the Elite manga was in 2024.

Fans will have better luck with the upcoming light novel releases. The light novel has multiple physical and digital releases coming up in English, with Classroom of the Elite Year 3 Volume 2 and Volume 3 both expected to come out in 2026.

Yes, Classroom of the Elite will have a season 5. Shortly after Season 4 finished in June 2026, a fifth season was confirmed to be in development. We don’t have a release date for this new season of Classroom of the Elite yet, but considering the 18-to-24-month gaps between the previous seasons, we expect it won’t be out until 2028.

Where can you read Classroom of the Elite?

There are two ways to read Classroom of the Elite: the original light novels and the manga adaptation. Both are still ongoing, with physical and digital releases happening periodically as listed above. New chapters of the manga are published every month in Japanese and are collected into physical volumes every few months. There are currently no confirmed plans to release an official English translation of The Classroom of the Elite Year 2 manga.

Meanwhile, the light novel has a steadier English release schedule, with two new volumes getting translated and published in 2026. Classroom of the Elite Year 3 Volume 2 will be published digitally in English on August 6, 2026 and physically on September 1, 2026.
