An exhibit showcasing 100 pieces of Klaus Janson's artwork will run at New York's Philippe Labaune Gallery from March 5 through April 11.

The Popverse coverage of the ComicsPRO Annual Meeting 2026 is brought to you by Lunar Distribution. Commited to Retailers. Focused on the Future of Comics.

2026 is already shaping up to be a massive year for American comics, in part because it marks the 40th anniversary of DC Comics' Batman: The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller, Klaus Janson, and Lynn Varley. DC has already announced the yearlong celebration of The Dark Knight Returns, but the festivities don't end there. Klaus Janson, the inker on The Dark Knight Returns, will be having his first-ever American art show this year. And where else better to host Klaus Janson's first American art show than New York City?

The exhibit will be held at Philippe Labaune Gallery in New York City and will open on March 5, 2026.

"This monumental exhibit will feature over 100 pieces from throughout [Klaus Janson's] prolific career," reads the gallery's announcement of the event. "The survey of work represents Janson’s career and tells the story of the last 50 years of American comics."

Philippe Labaune Gallery is located at  534 W 24th St, New York, NY 10011.

The exhibit will also include Janson's collaborations with artists like John Romita, Sr., John and Sal Buscema, Dick Giordano, Bill Sienkiewicz, Gil Kane, Gene Colan, and, of course, Frank Miller. The pieces in the exhibit will come from Janson's runs on Batman, Daredevil, Thor, and more.

Once the exhibit opens, you'll have to strike while the iron is still hot, because it will close on Saturday, April 11th. The gallery is open from Thursday through Saturday, from 10 am to 6 pm, so plan accordingly!

About ComicsPRO Industry Conference

Every year, the giants of the North American comic industry congregate behind closed doors for a closed-door conference to talk about the changing landscape of comics, what they've learned, and what they are all planning to do in the future. It's not a comic convention for fans, though - it's in a B2B event called the ComicsPRO Annual Meeting, and this year Popverse is going there to bring it all to you. At the 2026 Comics PRO Annual Meeting, Popverse will be covering the announcements, the conversations, and the insight from the likes of Marvel Comics, DC Comics, VIZ Media, Yen Press, Image Comics, Skybound Entertainment, and more.
