Marvel readies its own KPop Demon Hunter with Luna Snow special issue

Luna Snow has more fans than ever, thanks to Marvel Rivals, and Marvel Comics is finally honoring that love with a one-shot called Luna Snow: World Tour #1

There's never been more love for superpowered songstress Luna Snow than right now thanks to Marvel Rivals, and next year, Marvel Comics will finally catch up to this new surge in appreciation for the character. Until Luna showed up in Marvel Rivals, she was a character I considered to be in the "if you know, you know" category; personally, I was first introduced to her in Greg Pak, Nico Leon, and Federico Blee's Agents of Atlas miniseries in 2019, which featured her as a member of the pan-Asian superhero team, and since Marvel Rivals brought her to a larger audience, I've been directing my fellow gamers to check out that series. Next year, though, the world is about to get a lot bigger for Luna - thanks to a new special called Luna Snow: World Tour #1.

Luna Snow: World Tour #1 will reunite the ice-powered heroine with writer Greg Pak. Pak will be teaming up with his Mech Cadet Yu collaborator, Takeshi Miyazawa, as well as artist Ario Anindito, to deliver "an all-new adventure" for Luna, per Marvel. You really can't go wrong with this creative team. Marvel Comics' official solicit for the January 2026 one-shot is as follows:

As the world recovers from Doctor Doom’s takeover, K-pop star and ice-wielding super hero LUNA SNOW hits her lowest low yet. So she takes her music into her own hands – and hits the road! But when a NEW K-POP STAR appears on the scene with music that’s so catchy it’s criminal, Luna has to shift into hero mode to defend the very fans who can’t stand her. Can she win their hearts and save the day? And which beloved Marvel heroes will join her along the way?

The plot sounds reminiscent of Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters movie, considering that there will be a new artist on the scene messing with Luna's vibe as Marvel Comics' queen of Korean pop. As a longtime Luna fan, I welcome it because her character has been slept on for so many years, and the female characters at the center of KPop Demon Hunters have clearly struck a chord (I'm sorry) with people around the world.

As if that wasn't enough, the notion that Luna will be teaming up with other "beloved Marvel heroes" has me hoping for an Agents of Atlas reunion, where we'll get to see more of Lin Lie's Iron Fist (another character I was introduced to in Agents of Atlas)! Even though much more of the world knows about Lie now, I'll never stop being a walking PowerPoint presentation on why Lie, Luna, and their Agents of Atlas teammates are wonderful characters that more Marvel fans should know about.

Listen, in Marvel Rivals' continuity, Blade has songs by Luna Snow on his "slaylist" while he's out dusting vamps. Of course he does, he's a dhampir of taste! So it's about time Marvel Comics started matching the love and attention that their characters already give to Luna Snow in-universe.

Luna Snow: World Tour #1 will be released on January 14, 2026.
