Peter Pan is the story of a boy who never grew up... but what if he did? In the new comic book series The Last Boy from BOOM! Studios, the Lost Boys leader realizes that Neverland is growing up without him.

The Last Boy picks up years after the stories you remember, with Peter being the last child left in Neverland - with everyone else having grown up and moved on. Meanwhile back in the real world, Wendy is battling the liminal state between childhood and adulthood, and all that it entails. As both fight against the passage of time, the return of an aged Captain Hook gives them the frank and starling realization that Neverland itself is growing up - even with Peter in it.
"Having grown up fascinated with the Peter Pan films and books, I desperately wanted to tell a Peter Pan and Wendy story that takes place years after they encountered one another," says creator/writer Dan Panosian. "I wondered what would happen if everyone around Peter grew up but he still hadn’t, even if his very life and those he loved depended on it!"
Panosian is providing covers and design work for The Last Boy, with James Bond: 007's Alessio Avallone coming in to illustrate the series.

"I’ve loved Peter Pan’s story since childhood—maybe because, like all comic book artists, we’re eternal children? But as an adult artist, this project gave me a creative freedom I hadn’t felt in a while," says Avallone. "The real challenge was capturing the contrast between the foggy London and the dreamy Neverland. I hope readers enjoy it!"
The Last Boy #1 (of 5) debuts March 19, 2025 where comic books are sold, with variant covers by Eliza Ivanova, Goñi Montes, Adam Hughes, and Bill Sienkiewicz.
