Spider-Man and Venom to team-up (or maybe come to blows?) in upcoming Marvel Comics crossover event called Death Spiral

Marvel Comics' Death Spiral crossover event will spin out of The Amazing Spider-Man, Venom, and Eddie Brock: Carnage

Symbiotes are still going strong at Marvel Comics, evident in the upcoming crossover event Death Spiral announced at New York Comic Con 2025. Taking place across the regular The Amazing Spider-Man and Venom titles from February through April 2026, Death Spiral will bring together Spider-Man and Venom to take down a "super powered serial killer" threatening the Marvel Universe.

It all kicks off in February 2026 with an Alpha one-shot issue written by Amazing Spider-Man's Joe Kelly, Venom writer Al Ewing, and Eddie Brock: Carnage scribe Charles Soule, with art by Jesús Saiz. The storyline was announced during the Spider-Man and His Venomous Friends panel at NYCC 2025, which also revealed that fans shouldn't be too concerned about Peter Parker's commute in the crossover; he'll be returning from his current adventures in outer space in January's Amazing Spider-Man #19. (What does that mean for Norman Osborn's fill-in Spidey? That's a question answered in Amazing Spider-Man #20, also out in January 2026, apparently.)

Marvel's description of the Amazing Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral Alpha issue runs as follows: "A new super powered serial killer is on the loose and they're coming for Spidey, Venom, and everyone in between. But what terrible secret has Carnage learned and what does it have to do with Spider-Man?!"

So, Eddie Brock, what the hell did you learn about Peter Parker? Let's remember that, long before he'd ever hooked up with a symbiote, Eddie Brock was a journalist. If he was a particularly good one, he'd have an uncanny ability to dig up dirt on just about anyone. The question is, how is this going to affect his relationship with Spidey? I would like to see the drama, please.

For those who are looking for Spider-Man/Venom drama more immediately, Whatnot has a variant cover from Spider-Verse vs. Venom-Verse #1 featuring the two characters going head-to-head from artist Jonboy Meyers available here at NYCC 2025 and online as part of their Year in Marvel '25 trading pack. (The image at the top of this page comes from that very cover, in fact.) Just in case Amazing Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral feels too far away...
