Ever since the debut of the Mandalorian and Grogu in the Star Wars universe seven years ago, fans have been wanting the duo to come to comics. Marvel Comics' flagship Star Wars line seemed a likely choice, considering its a sister company of Lucasfilm, but as a wise Jedi once said "No, there is another."

The first-ever original Mandalorian and Grogu comic is coming out this summer from Mad Cave Studios' kids imprint Papercutz. Scheduled to come out after May 2026's The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, Papercutz‘s The Mandalorian & Grogu: Danger in the Dark will serve as a prequel to the movie, set after The Mandalorian season 3.
"A hidden danger looms deep beneath the surface of Nevarro and it’s up to the Mandalorian and Grogu to stop it!" reads the official description of the book. "Joined by a courageous crew of Anzellan friends, Din Djarin and his foundling venture into the lava tubes underneath the city to defuse a crashed pirate ship, facing creepy creatures and perilous obstacles along the way. But with the planet’s safety on the line, can Grogu learn to listen to Mando’s guidance? And can Mando balance teaching Grogu with letting the little guys lead? Don’t miss this high-energy story full of humor and heart!"
