DC Comics resurrects The Deadman as a key title spinning out of DC K.O. event
DC Comics' DC K.O. event is setting up the return of Deadman in his own comic series.

The Popverse coverage of the ComicsPRO Annual Meeting 2026 is brought to you by Lunar Distribution. Commited to Retailers. Focused on the Future of Comics.
You can't keep a good man down... especially the Deadman.

The new announcement comes from the annual Comics PRO event in California. DC's undead superhero Boston Brand returns this June with a new series spinning out of the current DC K.O. crossover event. Titled simply The Deadman, this six-issue series is a reunion for Ice Cream Man and Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum's W. Maxwell Prince and Martin Morrazo.
"In the aftermath of DC K.O., the balance between life and death has been thrown into chaos, leaving souls trapped in a dangerous loop of ghostly derangement," reads DC's description. "Only Boston Brand—the one and only Deadman—can possess the living and the metahuman alike to uncover the source of the disruption and restore order before the entire world slips into spiritual freefall."

The Deadman series is part of DC's 'Next Level' line, its new-reader-friendly line pairing celebrated creators with some of DC's more niche characters that have fervent cult status, and could be DC's next big superhero.
The Deadman #1 will have a primary cover by series artist Martin Morazzo, along with variants from Frank Cho, Tula Lotay, Mike Choi, and Jorge Corona. That first issue is set for a June 3 release at your local comic store (and online).
