Two years ago, the Ultimate Marvel line launched when a villainous Reed Richards variant known as the Maker wanted to subvert the Marvel Universe as we know it. At the time, he said he would return in two years to enact his final plans. That time is coming with December's Ultimate Endgame.
"[Ultimate Endgame is] all of the characters in the Ultimate Universe getting together for the first time to deal with the Maker," says Ultimate Marvel group editor Wil Moss during the Ultimate Marvel panel just now during Comic-Con International: San Diego 2025.
The series, which is taking its name very intentionally from the cataclysmic MCU movie Avengers: Endgame, was announced a few weeks ago but with no details on its plot or even its creators, but now we know two of them. It's been written by Deniz Camp (Ultimates), and drawn by his Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion partner Jonas Scharf.

"I think this is the craziest and most impactful crossover idea since Crisis on Infinite Earths, so I think I'm really excited about it," Camp says. "It's all the characters, everybody coming together in a big way."
According to Camp and Ultimate Marvel head writer Jonathan Hickman, Ultimate Endgame will resolve all the major plotlins from the Ultimate books from the last two years, including the 2023 Ultimate Invasion series.
"We're smashing all of that stuff together. Every tease matters. Every easter egg is showing up," says Hickman.
"It's very big and very dramatic. One of the things about working in the Ultimate Universe is, we can change the world," says Camp.
Hickman reveals that Camp was offered Ultimate Endgame during New York Comic Con last October.
"We knew that this book, that this book was why the Ultimates book was so important. There's absolutely no-one who was more prepared to write this book than Deniz," says Hickman. "You guys are going to love the shit out of it."
And while some other websites have speculated that Ultimate Endgame would be the end of the Ultimate Marvel line (and reported their speculation as fact), Marvel editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski says that there are "things coming from Endgame."
Ultimate Endgame #1 (of 5) debuts December 31.
