An anti-spy thriller is coming from Image Comics that's equal parts The Kingsman and K-Pop Demon Hunters

Doug Wagner and Hoyt Silva’s Yumi 00EX is a loud, chaotic anti-spy comic with a killer ride.

Image Comics veteran Doug Wagner has crisscrossed the genre aisles over the past 9 years with various series with the publisher, and later this year, he's doing that again — this time, in one book.

Launching August 12, Yumi: 00EX by Wagner and artist Hoyt Silva is described as an anti-spy thriller with a talking car. An earlier version of this comic came out as a small press title under the name Yumi: Spy Fatale, Baddie Royale, but now Wagner and Silva have given it some after-market upgrades for its main stage debut with Image Comics.

"Part The Kingsman, part K-Pop Demon Hunters, all attitude," Wagner says of the series. "We even tossed in an AI Lamborghini sidekick that’s built like a WMD, because with Hoyt and I involved, subtlety never really had a chance."

In the series, Yumi takes on MI6 when her boyfriend — an MI6 agent — disappears. Hacking their network? Not a problem. Disarming their operatives? Simple. But she does it even better with a Knight Rider-style Lamborghini that's more weapons than wheels.

Nicoletta Baldari has drawn the main cover for Yumi: 00EX #1, with variants by Silva and Mirka Andolfo. Check those out here:

Yumi: 00EX #1 (of 4) goes on sale August 12.
