Devour, a new graphic novel from Abrams, follows the Turner family as they move to Alabama to take care for their aging grandmother who suffers from dementia. The twist here is that the grandmother, Vassie, is actually the last in her line of powerful root workers. Over the course of Devour, Patsy, the eldest daughter of the Turner family, discovers where her family's powers come from - the Ghaninian spider god Anansi, and how her own family's connection to Anansi is affecting her grandmother now.
Devour is an original graphic novel from Jazmine Joyner and Anthony Pugh and will hit bookstores on May 7, 2024.
