Popverse's top stories of the day

The Doctor himself might not be bound by the limitations of time, but those of us who follow his adventures on TV certainly are. With the show’s new partnership with Disney+, international fans will be able to watch Doctor Who at the same time as fans in its native UK. No matter which side of the pond you’re on, here is when the next episode of Doctor Who is out.

As the show has slowly outgrown its traditional home at the BBC, the showrunner has sought new partners to bring bigger and better stories from across time and space. To help the show grow its international audience, new episodes of Doctor Who will be available to stream on Disney+ at the same time it lands on BBC iPlayer, which is midnight on Friday nights/Saturday mornings in the UK. What this means is US fans will get new Doctor Who episodes at 7 pm EST/ 4 pm PST on Fridays.

The next episode of Doctor Who will air on:

  • Doctor Who season 1 episode 4: 73 Yards – Friday May 17 at 7 pm EST / Saturday at midnight BST

If you’re in the UK, you will still be able to watch Doctor Who on its traditional Saturday evening timeslot on BBC. The big change here is that it will be available to stream earlier in the day so you may want to avoid social media on Saturday to avoid spoilers.

The 2024 season of Doctor Who, which has been branded as Season One despite being the 14th season of the New Who era, starts on May 10, 2024 with the first two episodes of the season. After that, new episodes will be available to stream on Friday evenings in the US or early Saturday mornings in the UK.
