Last Friday, we were finally gifted a first look at Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, and while we were aware of who the two main leads were going to be, the trailer gave us a handful of surprises and raised several questions. Some of them are related to the movie’s cast, so we’ve tried to compile here everything we learned about the actors, old and new, joining George Miller’s latest trip in the desertic post-apocalypse.

Who is in the Furiosa cast?

From the get-go, we can infer the Furiosa cast (at least the main portion of it) might be leaner than in past Mad Max entries, in which Max Rockatansky typically came across all sorts of allies and foes during his adventures through the never-ending wastelands and deserts. Even Mad Max: Fury Road, which can be largely summed up as a huge chase sequence, had a sizable cast of heroes, villains, and supporting characters with plenty of screen time. Read on below to find out who’s in the movie and who they’re confirmed to be playing (we’ll keep this article updated).

  • Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa
  • Chris Hemsworth as Dementus
  • Nathan Jones as Rictus Erectus
  • Daniel Webber and Ning Cyrus as War Boys
  • Dylan Hill as Blackfinger
  • Anne-Emilie Perol and Marcia Coronado as members of the Vuvalini
  • Kelli Bailey as The Wretched
  • Alex Time and Cody Riley as Dementus Bikers
  • Tom Burke
  • Angus Sampson
  • Goran D. Kleut
  • Lachy Hulme
  • Matuse
  • David Collins
  • CJ Bloomfield
  • Rahel Romahn
  • Florence Mezzara

As you can see, most of the roles are being kept under wraps in spite of the presence of some big names on the list besides Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth. However, we can celebrate the return of Nathan Jones as Rictus Erectus. As for a younger Immortan Joe (Fury Road’s main villain), who appears to have a major role in the movie, the identity of the actor behind the mask remains a mystery. Hugh Keays-Byrne passed away in 2020, so we are 100% going to see a new actor facing against Dementus and Furiosa.
