How does Critical Role's Chetney Pock O'Pea die? Travis Willingham (kinda) answers

Willingham, who played Chetney in Critical Role Campaign 3, has a vision of the character's transiion between this world and the next. But we're not 100% sure he's serious

When we ended Critical Role Campaign 3, things were looking A-OK for old Chetney Pock O'Pea. The gnome rogue, played in the TTRPG actual-play saga by Travis Willingham, got a kind of sunset sendoff, having not only proved his worth as an Exandrian hero but also constructed a fine home for Laura Bailey's Imogen Temult and Marisha Ray's Laudna. And that's pretty much the last we hear of Chetney.

Or is it? At a recent fan event, Willingham himself postulated on Chetney's future, fast-forwarding up until his very last acts on the Exandrian side of the afterlife. Whether or not he was serious about his ideas, though...

Well, we'll ket you decide.

The fan event in question was Anime Frontier 2025, where The Mighty Nein star Willingham appeared alongside fellow OG Rolers Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey, Liam O'Brien, Sam Riegel, and Taliesin Jaffe. The panel, which mostly acted as a fan Q&A, touched on everything from Dispatch to a possible Campaign 4 adaptation, but for one attending Critter, the panel was all about one horny gnome dude. Specifically, this fan wanted to know - how did Chetney Pock O'Pea die?

"He died as he lived," Willingham explained, in character as Pock O'Pea, "Which was with multiple naked bodies in the bedroom all worshipping him and his wooden master craftsmanship!"

Well there you have it, fellow Critter. Somebody go update the wiki page.
