The days of languishing and feeling nostalgic for the original Silent Hill games are over. Because now Konami wants to make a new Silent Hill game every year, which is perfect for these horrifying times that we live in.

At PAX West 2026's Konami panel, Silent Hill producer Motoi Okamoto spoke about Silent Hill: Townfall, the franchise's standalone spinoff game that is releasing this month.
"What we are striving to do is present an annual release for Silent Hill games. Because we would really like to present many different types of diverse experiences to the players," Okamoto began.
"And especially for this game. This game has a very unique narrative that is socially driven. So we feel that that is a very important take that we wanted to try and experiment and reach out to the players," Okamoto concluded.
Silent Hill: Townfall is set in 1996 in a fictional small Scottish town of St. Amelia, where an ordinary man named Simon Ordell wakes up and has no idea how he got there. Jovan Adepo, an actor who has appeared in horror projects like IT: Welcome to Derry and the kickass WWII zombie film Overlord, plays Simon. Terry O'Quinn, who played John Locke on Lost, plays an "enigmatic" man named Richard, who communicates with Simon.
Looking at the future of the franchise, Konami has announced that a remake of the original 1999 Silent Hill game is in the works. There is no word on when it will be released.
Silent Hill: Townfall will be released on September 24, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Windows.
