Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko have officially become Magic: The Gathering artists, thanks to Spider-Man

If money was no object, I would own a ridiculous amount of original art - specifically art by Jack Kirby. And while one of the finest artistic minds of the 20th century is most celebrated for his work on the Fourth World Saga for DC Comics, along with the Fantastic Four and Thor for Marvel Comics, he also pencilled the most valuable Spider-Man comic there is: Amazing Fantasy #15, Spidey's very first appearance in comic books.
Now, Kirby and Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko have been posthumously credited as Magic: The Gathering artists, thanks to Wizards of the Coast using their art for Amazing Fantasy #15 as the art for the Heroic Intervention card from their Spider-Man crossover set. You can check out the card below.

Currently, a low-grade (meaning, a beat-up copy) of Amazing Fantasy #15 is valued at $30,000 on Key Collector. Likewise, a mid-grade copy will set you back a whopping $115,000, basically the cost of attending a 4-year college in America, while a high-grade copy is valued at $695,000. Good golly.
I would imagine most of us would be happy to settle for whatever Heroic Intervention will cost on the secondary market once Marvel's Spider-Man releases September 26, 2025.
