Magic The Gathering unleashes Venom into Marvel's Spider-Man Drop sets

The people love their Venom, and Magic: The Gathering has been swift to take advantage of this with a new Secret Lair drop called Marvel's Spider-Man: Venom Unleashed. If you were expecting the cards in this drop to feature artwork of Venom running around like a freshly erupted chestburster from Ridley Scott's Alien, then I'm sorry to disappoint. But there are some truly unhinged bits of flavor text in these cards that I think will satisfy you.
Secret Lair x Marvel's Spider-Man: Venom Unleashed is composed of Damnation, Dark Ritual, Peer into the Abyss, Surgical Extraction, and Tendrils of Agony - all things that would work as chapter titles in my autobiography. The drop's art was drawn by Mark Bagley and Jay David Ramos, both names you would recognize if you're a big Venomhead. If you're a fan of Bagley's work in particular, you'll be pleased to know that there is a separate edition of the drop called Venom Unleashed (Inks) that features only Bagley's black and white inks for the cards' art. Take a look at the color version of the cards below.

And how much will your hunger for the Lethal Protector set you back? The non-foil edition of the drop, for both colors and inks versions, is priced at $29.99, while the rainbow foil edition costs $39.99. Choose wisely!
These Secret Lair drops will hit MagicSecretLair.com on September 22, 2025, 4 days before the larger Spider-Man Universes Beyond set releases.
