Marvel Comics latest adorable symbiote villain is a Venomized Cat we'd still adopt as a Magic: The Gathering card

Magic: The Gathering x Marvel's Spider-Man already has a Spider-Cat card, so why not include a Venomized Cat card?

When I was younger, I had a black cat named Fleury whom I would occasionally compare to Venom. Fleury, while having a dignified but dramatic personality, could be a bit slovenly. Of course, being a cat, he wasn't walking around my home leaving a goopy trail behind him like Venom would, but if it was physically possible for him to, he probably would have.

For this reason, I think Fleury would have loved the newly-revealed Venomized Cat card from Magic: The Gathering x Marvel's Spider-Man crossover. Revealed on Magic's Twitter page, Venomized Cat features art by Jessica Fong, whose Poison Ivy covers we're obsessed with here at Popverse. You can take a look at the card below.

Of course, Venomized Cat isn't the only cat-related card in the Spider-Man set. There's also a card called Masked Meower depicting Spider-Cat facing off against veterinarians. Now, you might be wondering, where the hell can I read a story in Marvel Comics with a Venomized Cat? You're in luck, because Spider-Man & Venom: Double Trouble by Mariko Tamaki and Gurihiru has an issue where Venom is in a cat body while Spider-Man is in the form of a squirrel.

Magic: The Gathering x Marvel's Spider-Man will be released on September 26, 2025.
