Oops! It looks like Twitch just leaked the next heroes in Marvel Rivals season 3 this summer

Twitch drops the ball and let it slip that Blade and Phoenix are coming to Marvel Rivals in season 3.

No matter what people say, always remember that game marketing is hard. For games like Marvel Rivals, which have huge player bases and partnerships with different platforms, it is sometimes inevitable that slip-ups will happen. Last week, one such mistake occurred when the Twitch blog seemingly revealed the release date for the next Marvel Rivals season – and who the new heroes would be.

It came in a blog post that Twitch posted to celebrate the upcoming Twitch Drops that we’d be seeing over the next few weeks. In that post (which has since been edited), Twitch proudly proclaimed that Marvel Rivals season three would start on July 11, 2025. It also included the title of the upcoming season as “The Abyss Awaken” and that Blade and Phoenix were coming to the hit team shooter in the new season.

The text read, “Phoenix and Blade ignite the action in Marvel Rivals Season 3: The Abyss Awakens! Get ready for all-new team-ups, stunning Venomized costumes, and sizzling summer events that will turn up the heat. Don’t miss out – tune in to Marvel Rivals on Twitch for exclusive drops and dive into this epic new chapter!”

The problem? Netease, the developer of Marvel Rivals, hasn’t confirmed any of this information. It is very possible that it is all correct and Twitch just jumped the gun publishing the blog post before Netease was ready for it, but it is also just as possible that things will change in the next few weeks before Marvel Rivals season three is set to start.

Will Blade and Phoenix/Jean Grey be the new heroes coming to Marvel Rivals this July? It feels likely but we still have to wait and see.
