The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes has just hit cinemas worldwide, and fans and critics alike have given the Tom Blyth and Rachel Zegler-led prequel the thumbs up. There will be some viewers, however, who prefer to wait for the home release, and we're here to answer the most pressing questions about its release on digital and streaming platforms. Read on below.
When can we expect The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes to be available via streaming and digital platforms?
The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, based off of the 2020 Suzanne Collins novel of the same name, is highly likely to hit streaming and digital rent/buy platforms in early 2024, as Lionsgate will no doubt try to maximize its box office performance over the following weeks and into Christmas.
Where will The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes be available to stream?
Fans of The Hunger Games and casual viewers should expect The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes to land on Peacock, following Lionsgate's multi-year deal with the NBCUniversal streaming service. This goes into effect in early 2024, exactly around the time The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes should be hitting the domestic market.
Physical retailers will be selling the physical release around that time or slightly later too. As usual, a digital release for buying/renting could be available earlier, but Lionsgate has yet to specify what the rollout plans are.
