Ann M. Martin is the beloved and prolific author who created The Baby-Sitters Club, the long-running series of prose books that is currently being adapted into graphic novels by Scholastic Graphix. However, despite such a prodigious career, New York Comic Con 2025 was Martin’s first foray into the world of comic conventions. During NYCC ’25, Martin sat down in The Studio with Popverse’s Ashley V. Martin. Among the many sage pieces of wisdom Martin shared was her advice for aspiring baby-sitters.
The topic came up when Robinson asked, “Do you have advice for someone who might be watching this who wants to become like Kristy and like Claudia, a baby-sitter themselves? What’s your best baby-sitting advice?”
“Based on the baby-sitters who sat for my sister and me,” Martin said, “The ones who came over with creative things for us to do or invented fun games for us to do in our house or took us outside to play with the other kids. Not the baby-sitters who sat us in front of the television and then talked on the phone all night.”
Do you want to hear all the details and advice shared by Martin during her interview with Robinson? Popverse has you covered. The entire video interview is available for you to watch and enjoy right now:
